Currently, Omran Mining and Geotechnical Company (OMG/OGC) is performing the exploration process for Shaida Copper Mine, the first large-scale exploration project in Afghanistan located in Herat province. In this regard, OMG has established the largest laboratory to prepare soil, rock, and core samples in Afghanistan. In this center, after submission samples, the preparation process including drying, screening, splitting, conducting XRF analysis, reporting results, archiving, and submission to another laboratory for geochemical analysis in accordance with sample preparation standard methods such as SGS’s methods is carried out.
